Bill Martin

Bill Tom Martin, 92, of Riesel passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 in Waco. Visitation will be Sunday, September 21 from 6pm to 8pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. The funeral service will be Monday, September 22 at 11am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Robinson Cemetery. Bro. Johnny Curry will officiate.
Bill was born January 7, 1922 in Donie, TX to parents Charlie and Mallie (McCloud) Martin. He served his country in the United States Air Force. On October 17, 1947 he married Hazel Key and they were together until her passing in April 1987. He was also retired from Central Freight Lines.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 39 years, Hazel; sisters, Marie Barnard and Mary Key; and brother, J.C. Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Dorothy Martin of Riesel; daughters, Brenda Jackson and husband Don of Riesel, Debbie Moegelin and husband Doug of Robinson and Cindy Ratliff and husband Mike of Riesel; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and step-children, Sue Shotwell and Ray Shotwell and wife Carol.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Hospice Place.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Marecle, Tony Jackson, Chad Moegelin, Brad Adcock, Neil Cummings, Kyle Marecle and Ty Marecle. His sons-in-law will serve as honorary pallbearers.
