Betty Johnson, 79, of Waco, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 with her family at her side. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Rosemound Cemetery with Pastor David Cozart officiating. Visitation with Betty’s family will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive.
Betty was born January 25, 1935 in Waco to Lucian and Opal Eggebrecht. She graduated from Waco High School in 1953. During high school she worked at Melrose Theater. She also found employment at Cameron Mills and at Cupp’s Drive Inn. Later after many years of working at Cupp’s Drive Inn, Betty bought the business which her children, Freddie and Sherry continue to operate. She enjoyed the Texas Coast, rides in the country and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Johnson Sr, who passed away February 13, 2014; her parents; and brother, William “Butch” Eggebrecht.
Betty is survived by her children, Ronnie Crow, Judy Crow, Freddie Johnson Jr. and wife, Milissa and Sherry Caughenbaugh and husband, David; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Eggebrecht and wife Pamela.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephanie Clause, Dr. Rodney Brown, Beverly and the staff with Guardian Home Health Care and the staff of Providence Hospice for their care of Betty.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Betty’s memory to Providence Hospice, the Animal Birth Control Clinic or to Fuzzy Friends Animal Rescue.
