Betty Sue Inlay

December 23, 1930 — August 16, 2024

Betty Sue Inlay, 93 of Waco, Tx passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, welcomed by her Lord and Savior.

Betty was the youngest of four children born to John Dewey Hobbs and Audrey Alice Parten - Hobbs on December 23, 1930, in Mount Calm, Texas. Betty loved her family and friends with a giving heart. She was a delight to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed singing, poetry, dancing, and listening to beautiful, easy listening music. In her younger years, she aspired to be a professional singer and sang regularly live on Waco radio shows. She enjoyed reading, watching classic movies, antiquing, cooking (she could make a mean pot of chicken and dumplings) and taking pleasure spending time with her family and friends at home. Best known to those who loved her for her perfectly put together clothes, hair and makeup, strong independence, work ethic, and vintage perfumes.

Foodies such as Rachael Ray, Ming Tsai, Paula Dean, and Ree Drummond always kept her planning and creating new recipes to share with others aside from the fantastic dishes she learned from her Mama. She strongly believed in family traditions, loyalty, being a productive citizen, and love of God and country. She was a loving wife, Mom, Granny, and Gee Gee. Betty worked for the Rountree dealership as executive secretary for well over 30 years.

She is survived by daughters Brenda McCullough - Soden and husband Gary, Lori Inlay - Nixon and son Jon Hobbs Inlay, 2 granddaughters, Allison and husband Edward, and Jamey, and 2 great-granddaughters, Ansley and Hayley. Precious friends Katherine Pirelo, Dolores Miller, and Tracey Armstrong, hold a special place in Betty's heart along with many others all of whom will miss her greatly.

Donations can be made to The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy or 91.3 FM KNCT Radio.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gary Barbin, Pastor Luke, Bluebonnet Hospice, and Providence nurses and hospice staff.

At her request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
