Betty Jo Alfona of Waco, Texas went to her heavenly home on September 30, 2019. Services will be Friday, October 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Roy Marshall and Rev. Chris Sammons will officiate.
Betty was born on May 8, 1927 to V.O. and Opal May. She grew up in Temple, Texas where she attended school. She married Frank Alfona in 1944. She worked for Bandy’s Veterinarian Supply for 25 years. After retirement in 1992 she went to live with her sister in Golinda, Texas and they later moved to Waco, Texas.
Betty loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church, Hewitt and the Martha Grace Sunday School Class. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her son, Billy Joe Alfona and her parents V.O. and Opal May. She is survived by her sister, Pat Darwin, a niece and two nephews, and a number of great and great-great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hewitt.
