Bertie L. “Bert” Shamblin, 81, passed away at home on Thursday, April 9, 2015. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 13, at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Bert was born November 27, 1933, to Arnold and Ruth Shamblin in Coffeyville, KS. He married Bernice Sumpter on November 18, 1950 in Bartlesville, OK.
Bert loved his daughters and grandchildren and spending time with them. He owned an exterminator business for over 40 years, and then went to flea markets and auctions. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends.
Bert was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ruth Shamblin.
Bert is survived by his wife, Bernice Shamblin; daughter Brenda Brunson and husband Michael; daughter Patsy Harralson and husband Jim; one brother; three sisters; grandchildren, Stephanie Hyde, Wendy Campbell, Bill Yant, and Michael Brunson, and 11 great-grandchildren.
