Beatrice “Bea” Martinez, 71, of Waco, TX, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby Ave, Waco, TX, with Very Rev. C. Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A Rosary service will begin at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, followed by a visitation from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, TX.

Bea was born March 22, 1950, in Waco, TX, to Pete, Sr. and Victoria (Romo) Rodriguez. She truly had a giving heart and made sure others in need didn’t go without. She was a beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law, and her family was blessed to have her in their lives. Bea was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a Member of the Guadalupana’s. Bea was always ready for a trip to the casino to play the slots with her family. At Christmas time, she made tamales to give to those she loved. Bea loved to sew and always loved to be around family, she enjoyed going out to eat with friends and family. Bea worked at the McLennan County Clerk’s office for many years until she retired to take care of her mother.

Bea was preceded in life everlasting, by her husband, Johnny Martinez; mother, Victoria Rodriguez; and daughters, Rosalinda Martinez and Cathy Renee Martinez.

She is survived by her father, Pete Rodriguez, Sr., children, John Martinez; daughter-in-law, Letty Martinez;Jamie Martinez and Stephanie; Jennifer Martinez Gongora and wife Tish; siblings, Pete Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Lena, Deacon Barney Rodriguez and wife Janie, Frances Cantu and husband Patrick, Alfred Rodriguez, Linda Rabago and husband Pedro; and Richard Rodriguez and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Brandon, Brianna, Tricia, Araceli, Rosendo, Alexus, Mercedes, Manuel, JohnAnthony, JohnNathan, Elyah, Jamie,Jr., Adrian, Miranda; great-grandson, Xavier “Chacho” Cardenas; along with many other family members and friends.
