Mrs. Fletcher was born October 5, 1943, in Jacksonville, Texas, the daughter of the late James Arnold and Melba Faye (Gilbreath) Messec. Upon moving to Waco at an early age, she attended University High School and later graduated in 1962 from Truman Beauty School in Waco. She worked in a couple of beauty shops in Waco and Robinson for a few years. On April 12, 1963, she married Larry Dale Fletcher in Waco. For nineteen years, she was a dependable and valued employee with Olan Mills as a negative puller.
In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing and following politics as close as possible. A drive through the countryside and a shopping trip to Fredericksburg was never out of the question. Drawing, flower gardening and reading were also very enjoyable to her.
Also preceding her in death were nephews, Brad Braziel, Jeff Messec, Michael Fletcher and Keith Fletcher.
Survivors include her husband Larry Fletcher of 54 years; a son, Robert Glenn Fletcher and wife Susan; a daughter, Tracy Fletcher Gleitman and husband Ron; a brother, Jimmy Messec and wife Linda; a sister, Pam Braziel and husband Les; and two grandchildren, Bethany Fletcher and Fletcher Gleitman.
