Our sweet and beloved Barbara “Nana” Cummings gracefully left this world on the morning of October 13, 2014, and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Barbara was born January 28, 1954 in Gatesville, Texas to Dorothy and Barney Harrington. One of three children, Barbara, also known as “Bo’dee,” was an extraordinary woman who led a remarkable life distinguished by her tenacity for love, life, knowledge, and laughter. Wisdom constantly and consistently flowed from her mouth as she led others by an outstanding example. With a fierce heart and a courageous tongue, Barbara intensely loved her family and friends without question, and could always be depended upon for love and support during any time of need. Always appreciative of any kindness shown to her, Barbara could often be heard expressing how blessed she was, for she knew what was important in life. As great lover of animals, Barbara dearly loved all of her pets, including her sweet dog, Jade. She will be kept forever in our hearts, and we will continue to follow in her footsteps for decades to come. She is survived by her true love, Larry Britt, her sister, Brenda Berryhill, her brother, Robert Reed, her daughter, Alyssa Cummings, grandchildren Lindsay Reed and Brandon Cummings, and great-grandchild, Aleyna Cummings, and many other loved relatives. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Friday, October 17 at the local private residence of Debbie and John Speckmiear, located at 300 Ivy Ann Court in Woodway, Texas. Parking will be available on the street. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society or the ASPCA, as animals held a special place in Barbara’s heart.
