August Ann Ankenbruck

October 17, 2018 — April 9, 2024

Del Rio, Texas

August Ann Ankenbruck passed away on April 9, 2024 and entered into the loving arms of Jesus. August was born on October 17, 2018 to Justin and Kyla (Grisham) Ankenbruck in Waco, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Kyle and Melanie Grisham and Mark and Julie Dee Ankenbruck, and the great-granddaughter of Carl and Joyce Sims and Sylvia Grisham.

August’s sweet spirit brought a calming presence to any room or interaction she entered. August’s light blonde ringlets, beautiful complexion, and bright blue eyes matched her angelic personality. She loved playing with her cousins and friends, especially at her Nanny and Pawpaw’s house and at her church. August could be found dancing in ballet slippers or barefoot in a creek bed. August was inquisitive and loved having conversations with her parents, expecting meaningful answers. She was always by her mother’s side and was her daddy’s “Little Buddy”. Lovingly known as “Woggy”, August brought a smile and joy to all she encountered. She had fun riding her bike, drawing, and painting. August found so much joy in making others laugh. Because she spent so many days at her church talking to everyone, taking ballet class, and playing under her mother’s desk, August was thought of as “the church baby”.

August is survived by her parents, grandparents, and two sisters, Avery and Brynn. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Kerri and Kyle Knox, Caleb and Mary Grisham, Kyra and Gabriel Rude, Dylan and Emily Ankenbruck, and Katherine and Matthew Greeson, as well as many close cousins.

August will be in state at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, Texas Sunday April 21 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and Monday, April 22 from 8:30am to 4:30pm. All are welcome to come and pay their respects during these times. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 23 at Robinson Cemetery in Robinson, Texas.
