Audrey Maas, 65, of Waco, passed away on January 11, 2021. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Robinson from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Audrey was born in Gatesville, Texas to Aubrel and Almetta Barker on October 18, 1955. She was a graduate of Copperas Cove High School. Audrey married Marshall Maas on September 3, 1978 and they were married for 41 years until his passing in 2019. Audrey was a long-standing member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hewitt.
Audrey had a love for crocheting and crafting and spent many hours making blankets for family and friends. She recently spent months making sure that all of her great-grandkids had new blankets for Christmas. She also enjoyed taking road trips with her granddaughter Sydney to visit family and friends. Audrey was always planning their next adventure. She also had a love for her dog, George W. Bush.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall; her parents; and her sister, Patricia Johnson.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Jennifer VanCleave and husband Tim, grandson, Steven Sexton of Ft. Worth, granddaughter Sydney Sexton of Waco, brother, Brynell Barker of Artesia, New Mexico, sister Billie Crumley and husband Sid of Austin, Texas, sister Uthana Haynes and husband Howard of Artesia, brother Dale Barker and wife Linda of Roswell, New Mexico, sister Judy Kay and husband Danny Abner of Artesia, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Audrey happily welcomed Chris VanCleave of Temple, Texas, Emily Patton and husband Josh of Salado, Texas and Leah VanCleave of Temple, Texas to the family and treated them as her own. She was overjoyed to accept the role of great grandmother to Ella, Maci and Dax Patton as well as Marlon and Winnie VanCleave.
