Arthur Wayne Hansen

Arthur Wayne Hansen was born May 22, 1949, to Charles and Jocelyn Hansen. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 9, 2025, with his wife and daughter by his side. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, at Grace Temple Baptist Church, 3825 Bosque Blvd, Waco, TX 76710, with Pastor Buddy Sipe officiating. A visitation will follow the service at the church.

Arthur grew up in the Cottonwood community on the family farm. He graduated from Lorena High School, where he was active in the FFA. Arthur served as Vice-President for the state FFA. Arthur attended Sam Houston State University where he graduated with a degree in Agriculture. He worked in the field of construction but eventually returned to the farm and began his farming career. Arthur was committee chairman of the Falls County Crop Committee for 4 years.

Arthur was active in his church and community and served on the Lorena School Board. He sang in the church choir at Cottonwood and was also a member of a quartet and trio, where he used his incredible bass voice for the glory of God.

Arthur retired and began managing his family’s livestock operation, which he enjoyed greatly. In January 2021, he married Tammy Kitchens. They enjoyed traveling and hiking. Art was also an avid saltwater fisherman. After his son and daughter graduated from Texas A&M, he became a huge Aggie fan!

Arthur was preceded in death by his dad, Charles Hansen and brother-in-law, John Roy Zajicek. He is survived by his mother, Jocelyn Hansen; wife, Tammy Hansen; children, Justin Hansen (Brittany), Taylar Hansen (Korrey), Dakota Hansen (Mandi) and Leigh Barrington (Justin); step-children, Ashley Conner (Will), Randy Kitchens, and Katie Huffman (Marcus); siblings, Naomi Arnold (Kenny), Charlotte Sadler (Jerry), and Connie Hansen; along with 17 grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
