Annette Eileen Schmedthorst Crook passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the age of 62. She was born on August 30, 1959 in Waco, Texas to Robert and Doris (Kunkel) Schmedthorst, and was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Annette graduated from Robinson High School in 1977 and attended McLennan Community College.
In January 1982, Annette began working at American Income Life Insurance, where she worked for over 39 years. She was loved and respected for her hard work and dedication, and gladly offered advice to those who needed it.
Annette always loved her family with all her heart, and was a special daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. She loved being “Mimi” to her grandchildren, and has been a friend, bonus mom, aunt, and Mimi to many others. She had a wonderful heart and cared for so many and especially loved baking, cooking, decorating, and she could never pass up a baby shower. She loved celebrating special events with everyone, and her passing will leave a hole in the heart of all that were blessed to know to her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Schmedthorst, her grandparents, Louis and Olivia Schmedthorst and Elmo and Frieda Kunkel, her first husband Donald Toten, her second husband, Kenneth Crook and her son-in-law, Chad Moran Sr.
Annette is survived by her daughters, Tiffany Moran Burdette and Aimee Toten, her mother, Doris Schmedthorst, her sister, Robin Schmedthorst, and her brother and his wife, Mark and Adria Schmedthorst and their daughters, Allie, and Lilah. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chad Moran Jr., Caprice Pankonien, and Alessa Burdett, along with her aunt and uncle, Sharon and Gary Folks, and Sandra Roberson, a friend close to her heart, Pat Breeland, and her “bonus kids”, Lacey Paulson, Samantha Green, Michael Burdett Jr., and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 5 to 7 pm. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
