Andrew Mendoza

Andrew Mendoza, Jr., loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on June 30, 2016. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing beginning at 10 AM and a service following at 11 AM, Monday, July 4, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Andrew was born November 14, 1939, in Waco, Texas, to the late Andrew and Christine Mendoza. He was married September 30, 1960, to Rebecca Lopez.
Andrew was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca; parents, Andrew and Christine; and three brothers, Roy, Carlos, and David Mendoza.
Survivors include three sons, Andrew III, Gilbert, and Robert Mendoza; three sisters, Connie Garza and husband Larry of Waco, Elizabeth Rogers and husband Mike of Plano, and Beatrice Silva and husband James of Yukon, OK; one brother, Armando Mendoza of Carrollton; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Early on in life, Andrew served in the Army. He was a gentle soul, full of kindness and was very steadfast in his faith. He loved sharing prayers and poems with his family and friends. He also was a very generous man and would help anyone in need. His hobbies include photography and making leather wallets. His love of his life was his boys and his wife, Rebecca.
He will be greatly missed!
