Amalia Allen, 83, of Waco, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 17 at 9:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1011 Boston Street, Waco. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm with visitation to follow until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 16 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.
Amalia was born December 26, 1930 in Panama to parents, Tadeo and Amalia (DeLeon) Vargas. She loved animals, especially her birds and her dogs. Amalia enjoyed working in her yard and was so proud of her beautiful flower beds. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and tia and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 19 years, Jack W. Allen, Sr.; and brothers, Arcelio Vargas, Juventino Vargas and Horacio Vargas.
Amalia leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Jack W. Allen, Jr. and wife, Sheryl of Riesel, TX, Bobby Allen and Lynda Parrish of Greenville, TX, and Randy Allen and wife Vicki of Allen, TX; grandchildren, Haley Allen, Michael Allen, Danielle Allen, Adam Allen, Chelsea Allen and Courtney Allen; sisters, Avelina deRamirez and Elia Vargas; brother, Elias Vargas and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at The Atrium of Bellmead and Providence Hospice for the outstanding care provided to Amalia.
