Alonzo Williams passed away on March 16, 2015 in Robinson, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 20, at the Robinson Church of Christ, 428 Chado Ln. Burial with military honors will follow at Robinson Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, March 19 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr.
Mr. Williams was born on June 9, 1921 in Comanche County, Texas. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II. On August 4, 1946, he married Adrienne Smith in Throckmorton, Texas. He attended Abilene Christian College and received a Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State University. Mr. Williams also taught Agriculture at Weatherford Junior College and several Texas high schools. Eventually, he and Adrienne moved to Robinson from Georgetown to be closer to their daughters.
He was preceded in death by two daughters; Terri Duncan and Joy Hatcher; 1 grandchild, David Duncan, and 1 great grandchild, Kirby Taylor.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 68 years, Adrienne Williams, his daughters; Kay Carter, Jan Norwood and husband Dale, and son; Don Williams and wife, Julia. He had 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren that he loved tremendously.
