Allie Brown

Allie Belma (Lowry) Brown passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the age of 91. The family will receive visitors Friday, July 25 from 9am – 10am at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. Services will follow at 10am. Burial will be held at Robinson Cemetery.
Allie was born February 19, 1923 in Lott, Texas to Arthur E. Lowry & Callie (Ingram) Lowry. They reported snow on the ground and Dr. Whiteside drove in his horse and buggy from Chilton for the delivery at her grandparents' home - Mr. & Mrs. Andy Ingram on the Carter Ranch.
She was a graduate of Lorena High School, where she had the 5th highest grade out of a class of 43, having missed many weeks of schooling to help with the farm work. She earned her certificate of completion from the National School of Business. She was employed by Clifton Manufacturing Co. for 7 years, making clothes for World War II Veterans. She then worked for Clark-Wilkerson-Hatch Insurance Co. until retirement in 1969. She was married to Lewis Brown on March 25, 1944 for 37 years until the time of his death in 1980.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lewis; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Survivors include, sisters Ann & Lester Bryant of Austin, Mildred & Chuck Murphy of Robinson, Lillie & Kenneth Sandel of Robinson, brother Lonnie Lowry and sister-in-law, Lou Ann Lowry as well as a host of sweet nieces & nephews, too many to name. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Cancer Foundation.
Pallbearers will be, Gary Bryant, Chris Lowry, Andy Lowry and Lloyd Lowry.
The family wishes to express their thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Providence Hospice, especially Gay Fox, for the love & support shown to Allie.
