Albert William Schroeder, Jr. passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Waco. A graveside service will be held at 10am Tuesday, February 20 at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S 5th St, Waco, with Rev. Wayne Blackshear officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Albert was born in Waco on January 6, 1932 to Albert and Gussie (Huseman) Schroeder. He attended Gurley Elementary, South Waco Junior High, and Waco High School. He was married for 65 years to Virginia Pearl (Benton) Schroeder. Albert was a Lieutenant in the Waco Fire Department and retired in 1992 after 32 years of service. He pastored churches in Delia, Hallsburg, Speegleville, and was pastor at Primrose Drive Baptist Church for 21 years. At the time of his death, he was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Lorena.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Glynn; his wife, Virginia; and daughter, Judy Bragewitz.
Survivors include his son, Gary Schroeder and wife Sheila; four grandchildren, Christy Bragewitz, Keith, Mark, and Sherry Schroeder; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Crossroads Baptist Church in Lorena or Primrose Drive Baptist Church in Waco.
