Albert R. Herrera Sr. “Memis” was born June 25, 1964, in Waco, Texas to Manuel and Angelita (Helen) Herrera. Well known for his work in construction, in which he established a very successful business (Herrera Construction). Albert was very well known throughout the community, as he was an elected member of the Lacy Lakeview City Council. He was loved by everyone he ever came across. Always putting smiles on everyone’s face, he had a very joyful, uplifting spirit about him. His family was his main priority in life, from his parents who he loved and adored, to his grandchildren who he cherished every moment with. Albert loved fishing trips and being outdoors with his sons and grandkids. He loved dancing around and singing. They will forever remember his smiling face. He was a beloved father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will forever be missed and in our hearts always.
Albert was preceded in death by his grandparents, John L. Herrera, Sr., and Tiburcia G. Herrera; sisters, Janie Herrera and Debbie Olivo.
He is survived by his children Shontelle Herrera Diaz, Albert Herrera Jr., Francis Rivera, Natasha Villafaña, Johnathan Herrera, Matthew Herrera, Serrina Rivera; and 15 grandchildren. His parents Manuel Herrera, Sr. and Angelita (Helen) Herrera; siblings, Manuel Herrera, Jr., Larry Herrera Sr., Mary Francis Herrera, Angela Herrera, Michael Herrera, Rudy Herrera, Moses Herrera, Adam Herrera, and Eve Herrera.
