Albert Fredrick Glockzin, 88, was called home by the Lord, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, due to complications of kidney and heart failure. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Pastor Scott Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, August 18, at the funeral home.
Albert was born in Falls County on September 8, 1928, to the late Otto and Emma Glockzin. He had four brothers and eight sisters. On January 21, 1961, he married the love of his life, Lydia Bertha Pankonien. Together they raised three boys, David Wayne, Jerry Allen, and Tommy Lloyd Glockzin. Albert enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and gardening. He was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Robinson, TX. He coached his son’s little league teams. Alberts was a loving and caring husband and father.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Otto; wife, Lydia; brothers, Emanuel and Barnard Glockzin; sisters, Selma Mulsow, Lydia Schroeder, Martha Hanna, Elsie Crump, Rose Schmidt, and Lorene Frosch.
Albert is survived by his brothers, Curtis Glockzin, of Hewitt, and Alfred Glockzin of Bedford; sisters, Ruby Kattner of Riesel, and Mary Ruth Williams of Waco; his sons, David Glockzin and Jerry Glockzin, of Waco and Tommy Glockzin of San Antonio; and sister-in-law Mattie Korb of Mart, TX.
