In Loving Memory of Al “Chief” Dees, 80, of Waco died peacefully in his sleep at home on Wednesday, January 27th, 2016, after a long illness. He was a Christian that served our Lord. He now sleeps with the angels.
Al was born December 13, 1935 to Dexter and Helen Dees in Wortham, Texas. Al was married to his devoted wife of 57 years, Mary Helen Dees. They shared a beautiful life as one and their forever love will continue in Heaven. He was a quiet and gentle man. Al was referred to as the “best man” anyone ever knew. He will be greatly missed by all he touched with his heart of gold. Al lived a life full of Jesus. He shared many stories of his life and the life lessons he learned to help us all grow in the Bible and strive to be the best person we could be.
He is survived by his wife Mary Helen Dees; children Vicki Lynn Roberts and her husband Jim of Fort Worth, Texas, Clay Dees and wife Tanna of Azle, Tx; He was affectionately known as Chief by his only son, and Vicki was always a Daddy’s Girl. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley Rieger and husband Aaron of Hewitt, Texas, and Raven Dees of Fort Worth, Texas; and great-grandchildren Fynlee Grace and Fallyn Faith who will forever remember their PawPaw.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. The family would like to extend their deepest heartfelt gratitude to all the family and friends for their love and support.
A memorial visitation for Al will be Saturday, January 30, from 4-6pm, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. His wife says “It’s not goodbye, but we will see you later!”
