Obituary for Neil Skinner

Neil Skinner
Our loving father, husband, son, PawPaw, brother, uncle and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 22nd at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Pastor Reggie Blake officiating. Burial will follow at Riesel Cemetery, Riesel, TX. Visitation will be Thursday, September 21st from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Burness Neil Skinner, of Riesel, was born February 13, 1956 to Homer and Gwen Skinner and was the youngest of three sons. He was a Master Mason and past worshipful master in the Riesel Masonic Lodge #835. He worked over 20+ years at TU Electric, co-owned Skinner Brother Boats (with his brother Johnny Skinner), as well as, most recently at Central Texas Iron Works (CTIW) over the last 15+ years. He was a devoted father & son, and loved his family and his grandchildren the most. He would do anything for anyone if all they would do is ask, without asking or expecting anything in return. He loved hunting, fishing at the coast, and playing a round of golf. He will be deeply missed.
Neil was preceded in death by his father, Homer; his brother, Mike; and Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, G.H. & Doris Rice.
Neil is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cherry; his son Travis and his wife Lindsey; his son, Clayton and his wife Jayme; his mother, Gwen, and brother, Johnny and his wife Kristy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was blessed with two loving grandchildren: Easton Neil and Emery Jo Skinner.
Pallbearers will be Travis Skinner. Clayton Skinner, Johnny Skinner, Johnny Skinner, Jr, Bud Owen, Bobby Stewart, James Doughty, and Cody Truett. Honorary pallbearers will be Easton Neil and Emery Jo Skinner.
